originally from Rogersville Alabama in Lauderdale county. Surnames:|
James, Eddy, King, Corum, Waldrep, Price, Howell, Herman, Springer,Campbell, Beavers, Jackson, Newton, Hunter, Cottles, Grisham, Slaton, Whitehead, Osborn and Peak.
Several lines of my family lived in Giles County, Tennessee and eventually settles in Cullman-Winston County and Lauderdale County, Alabama.
I am currently researching the Price and Herman families from Lauderdale County Alabama. They are connected to the Springer family.
My brick wall is the parents of Mary Jane Hunter who married John Frank James. They are both buried in Jones Chapel in Cullman Alabama. Mary Jane Hunter's parents are listed as John M. Hunter and Mary Jane Campbell. There is a marriage license for them for 1848 in Morgan County Alabama. Mary Jane Campbell is listed on the census as born 1828 in Tennessee. I have not been able to connect her to any Campbell lines. I believe that she died and John Hunter remarried Mila Barton.

Hi, James Osborn was my Dad's granddad or great granddad. I'm not real sure right this minute. I would have to get my genealogy book out to make sure. It's nice to hear from you. How are you related?

|John Miller||RE: John Eddy/ Caroline Ward|
I'm thinking there might be some confusion here as I don't think there are connections between the Eddy family in Java, NY and the Eddy family in Alabama. As far as I know, John Eddy (1795-1881) did not have a son named Nicholas.
|AMANDA C||RE: Monroe Cottles|
I just found him a few months ago. He had a son Chisholm with Betty J and then Chisholm had a son with Flora who is my grandpa Lonnie Ray Cottles who was married to my grandma Geraldine and then to Frances. :-)
