You are very welcome. Glad we were able to do that for you. St. Matthews Memorial Garden is a beautiful area of the church.

Thank you for your reply! I have since found a copy of the marriage certificate of Robert Hamilton and Minnie E. Collins Tyler. They were married on October 14, 1942. Minnie was 56 years old (widowed) and Robert was 35 years old. Minnie’s husband, James Francis Tyler, died July 8, 1940. Robert’s signature on the marriage certificate and his signature on the letter match perfectly.
Turns out, Robert is Lee and Thelma Haderlie’s step-father. I feel like with her age, they did not have children and I have found no further information on them, so it may be best to forget about getting the letter back to family. My daughter actually purchased it on ebay and I will give her this information and she can decide what to do with it. It is a nice letter with his insight on the war.
Again, thank you for your help.

Hi Trudy! I am looking for a relative of Lee Lester Haderlie #94524476 & Thelma Haderlie #73813176. I purchased a handwritten letter from a soldier of WWII. The soldier was Robert Hamilton writing to his wife which he only referred to as "darling". The letter was addressed in c/o Lee. I believe Mr. Hamilton's wife was Thelma Haderlie's sister (Virginia). I would very much like to get this back to the family if they are interested in it. If you have any info or know of a relative that would like to have it back please let me know and i will be more than happy to just drop it in the mail. I know its a long shot but thank you for your time!!
