I am Jane Elliott Kidd and I researched genealogy with my sister, Shirley Sherman for forty years. We have connection to Elliotts, Mannings, Mattinglys Leakes Pikes Goughs Yegers Fenwicks and many more. Our families came mostly from Maryland to Kentucky with the Catholic League and then from Kentucky to Missouri with the Catholic pioneers. We settled in Ralls county around 1828. My sister died last year and I have some of her many files and her gedcom. I did most of the leg work and she kept the files and entered them into our Elliott genealogy. Our great x3 grandmother, Anna Savilla Elliott was the owner of Martha Jane Tolton and her children, one of which was the first black priest in America, Father Augustus Tolton, now a candidate for sainthood.
RE: Ann Gough Manning Hey there Jane! We probably are related through a common Gough ancestor somewhere back there. The enlarged headstone picture indicates 1830 as her death date, so her birth and death date have been revised. Will transfer them to you now, but know that I am interested in the family Gough if you have info to send!
Joseph William Pike Jane, You have posted a picture on Memorial #107363619 of the Joseph Pike family. This is a duplicate of an earlier entry and I wish to delete it. Could you please move it to Memorial #66793826 and let me know when it is moved so that I can delete my duplicate entry? Thanks so much. Also, would you be able to identify the children? Thank so much for your help.
John Elliott I received your SAC message about John Elliott, and am not sure what you want me to do. I have the same children in my family records, but I show that their mother was Martha Wilheight Settles. The children I have are Martha Angeline b. 1866, d. 1908; Rosalee b. 1867; Angeline Savilla b. 15 Aug 1869, d. 20 May 1902, married Albert Kendrick; William Henry b. 13 May 1872, d. 15 May 1922; George Thomas b. 1874, d. 1911; Ernest Joseph b. 1878, d. after 1930.
