Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy researching geneaology. I am a descendent of Spainish and English Royality. Cemetaries allow us to gain a lot of information that sometimes is difficult to find elsewhere. I also enjoy helping others find their long lost relatives. If I can be of any help please contact me.

RE: Margret Penelope Byerly Lumpkin
Leah,

You will sometimes find strange things on death certificates. If you have checked everything that you can on ancestry.com or etc. I would look up the phone number for the library and courthouse in the area that she died. Call the library first and get them to see what they have on file. There may be a newspaper article about her somewhere. If you do not get an answer, check with the courthouse for any records that they may have.

It is always better to be there in person but, try these things first.

I have been where you are and sometimes you just have to resort to your own ideas. I just make notes as to my findings and keep them with the person or family. Someday it will all come together for you.

Let me know what you find out.

Hassie Peevy & Family
Leah,

The 1940 Census of Cameron, Louisiana shows the following:

Carolyn Peevy b. 1937, Cameron, LA.
Effie Jean Peevy b. 1938, Cameron, LA.
Hassie Peevy b. 1912, LA.
Hiram Peevy b. 1912, Lawhorn, Bienville Parish, LA.

Hiram b. Jan. 31, 1912 d. May 3, 1971, age 59, ElDorado, AR. # 90914579. Married Hassie Avice Pritzen, Feb. 4, 1934 in Ringgold, Louisiana. His parents, Joseph William (Will) Peevy and Effie Ann Haddox.

Look on Findagrave in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Minden, Webster Parish, LA. for the name Peevy. Also, Look in Providence Cemetery, Ringgold, Bienville Parish, LA. for the name Peevy.

The large old white house that J.C. Peevy and Emily Odell Hall lived in was on Military Road in Ringgold, LA. I went to school with Evelyn Faye Peevy Parker who was the daughter of Elzie W. Peevy. Evelyn is a sister to J.C. Peevy. J.C.'s parents were Elzie W. Peevy and Jewell. Elzie's grandparents are, Joseph W. Peevy and Effie Peevy.

I did not know how far you wanted to go with the Peevy family but, thought I would send this information.

Lumpkin. Mississippi
Leah,

It was easy! I noticed that Hugh died in Mississippi and I went right to their memorials. You should be able to trace their son Ted now.

Let me know, if I can help again.

Myrtis A. Slaughter Lumpkin
Leah,

Is the date of birth for Myrtle Oct. 5, 1908 and date of death Jan. 31, 1998? I found a Myrtle S. Lumpkin and Hugh Hilery Lumpkin buried in Indianola City Cemetery, Sunflower County, Mississippi.

# 132081095
# 132082154

The 1930 Census of Jackson, Hinds, Mississippi shows Myrtle S. Lumpkin age 21 b. LA., married to Hugh H. Lumpkin age 22 b. TX. The 1940 Census of Byhalia, Beat 3, Marshall, Mississippi shows Myrtle Lumpkin age 31 b. LA. with H.H. Lumpkin and a son age 8 b. MS. Name: Ted Lumpkin.

This would be about the right age for Myrtle.

This is about all that I can find. It may not be the person that you are looking for.

I will talk to someone that might know something about Avis Pritzen Peevy. But, she is probably to young to help you. Most of that family that I knew are deceased now.

Leah,

The family tree that I made reference to was done by Rep. Glen Maxey, Austin, Texas 2014. It is a family tree for John and Sallie Pritzen.

Their children:
James Arthur 1899-1965
Lillie Mae 1900-1950
Jerry Daniel 1902-1968
Linnie Eulalia 1903-191
Florilla Gladdice 1905-1995
Hollis Leslie 1906-1993
John Perry 1909-1973
Hassie Avice 1912-2002
Sarah Elizabeth 1914-1998

The parents of Sarah Elizabeth (Sallie) Slaughter are: Daniel Gill Slaughter 1855-1944 & Mary Elizabeth Bettie Maxey. Also shown as Elizabeth Ann Knighton 1857-1884.

Lane Memorial Cemetery, Sibley, Webster Parish, Louisiana shows the following:

Mary E. Slaughter who is the mother of Myrtle Angeline Slaughter Lumpkin 1908-1988.

Feel free to send additional information if needed. I will be happy to add or change anything that has a source.

Leah,

Look in Bistineau Cemetery for the following:

106270546 John Michael Pritzen

50233097 Sarah Elizabeth (Sallie) Pritzen

Most of my research can be found on the memorial of Daniel Gill Slaughter

m.1. Sarah Elizabeth Knighton
m.2. Mary E.

A friend, Richard Tucker, Sr. has worked some on the Slaughter family.

This is about all that I have done thus far.

RE: Sallie Pritzen
Leah,

I am not related to Sallie Pritzen but, I knew Saddie & Hassie when I was young.

I have lived in the Bistineau Community most of my life and have a great love for Bistineau Cemetery. I have added a lot of photos and information to it in the past few years. I am still working on the unknown buried there.

If you have information or photos to add, please feel free to send them to me.
