Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi I am Arvin Leon "Scooter" Thornton Jr. I live in Thornton, Colorado. I am a software developer by day, and I collect family members in the evenings and weekends. I am researching the Thornton, Cruse, Mohler, Shoaf, Davis, Bourland, Ray, Michael, Carter, Melluish / Melhuish, and McCloskey / McCluskey surnames.

I am fortunate in that I am able to travel outside the U.S. in performance of my duties in land administration. Every time I have a day off I am lurking about in the local cemeteries with camera in hand - a love I inherited from my mother and grandmother. One of my great pleasures is when I can help someone locate their family members. If I have helped you in this way, please drop me a line and share your story.

What an excellent resource is Find-A-Grave! I have gained so much from it and I try to give back as much as possible. I am happy to share what I have with you. Please feel free to use any of the photographs I have provided, for any personal, non-commercial purpose, but kindly credit me as the photographer as follows: "Photo courtesy of Arvin Leon Thornton Jr., Find-a-Grave member #48110330". I only ask to be credited so that if someone has a question about the photograph, they can locate the source.

RE: Bella Victorine NANTON CROOKS
Thank you very much. James was a cousin of Bella and Isabella was James's mother; they were both from St. Vincent but had a plantation in Trinidad.

Thank you for taking the photos - all of them. I have done this in Chile while on a trip. I also use Find A Grave for my own research and add my own people as I find them. A wonderful resource. Thanks again.

Lord Ridge Cemetery
I have just completed the posting of names and photographs that I made in Belize.
About 90% did not have readable tombstones.
You may find your loved ones or they may not be posted.
I did my best.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.

In 1908 he made a major decision, left Ireland & joined the Jamaica Police. He was Captain in the British West Indies Reg & returned to a high position in the Jamaican Police. There are many articles about him in the Kingston Daily Gleaner. He was also involved with the Lyons family in Kingston. Married Myra E. DeLisser(no children) He retired in Jamaica. d. 1956.
