RE: Danke Shoen for feedback on Katherine (Mehr) Hemmesch memorial
Trevor, thanks for the continuing dialog.

Like many researchers, I NEVER turn down the opportunity to access archive materials... I just hate having to return it.

But since you're talking about electronic files from Stearns County (I was born in Melrose, but now live in Western Washington)... I'd love to see what you have. I also subscribe to Ancestry.com, so if you send me a link to your tree, I'll definitely check it out.

I am really beginning to look forward to seeing more... the chance to get things right easily outweighs any "shame" in having messed it up initially.

If you want to contactly me directly, my public e-mail address = ptpgroup@hotmail.com. Namaste, "PJ"

Danke Shoen for feedback on Katherine (Mehr) Hemmesch memorial
Trevor, while I imagine there are a number of folks out there who might "react negatively" to someone challenging a Find A Grave memorial -- I am not one of them. Your message is truly a GIFT...inviting me to double-check my assumptions & if I was wrong, giving me the chance to make things right.

Thanks also for the suggestions to begin my alternative research... I love having some other "targets of opportunity." I'll start looking and will make any edits I can make sense of. As my profile states, my memorials are almost exclusively family memberss... with a goal of helping other researchers find information about my extended family.

If it turns out you are correct, then this will be one of the few memorials that aren't my family. If this is the case, we may need to look at the possibility of transfering this memorial over to your care, since you are clear about your relationship.

I'll get back to you later. Namaste, "PJ"

RE: Anna (Sauer) Sauer
Hi Trevor, I added the link to her father. Thanks. I don't think her mother is buried there - or at least not in a marked grave. I have the Stearns county gravestone index and there are 2 Katherine's listed, one is an infant and the other is John's wife. Since she died after August, maybe nobody ever had a gravestone placed.

Brian

No, I think this is the original location. It is not an active cemetery. It is surrounded by farm land. If you look at the satellite map you can see the raised gravel area in the NE corner. Broken markers were moved to this area for protection. There are standing markers and fieldstones throughout the cemetery.

RE: Theresa Mehr
You are welcome. The markers were found on a raised gravel area. They are not at the actual burial location. The cemetery is maintained and cared for.
