|Jeff Braucher||RE: Richard Braucher|
I'm not sure if there is a specific history book of the Braucher's. There is a book on the History of Stark County Ohio (published in the late 1800's) and the History of Berks County Pennsylvania that contain a lot of history on the first Braucher's in Pennsylvania (Berks Co.) and then their move to Stark County Ohio. You can google it and possible find an online version of the book. The part of the Braucher's is only a few pages in each.
I made a trip in 2011 and visited the cemeteries in Stark County Ohio and Berks County Pennsylvania where many of our ancestors are buried. I attended church at New Bethel Lutheran Church in Kempton PA that was started by Christoper (Stoffel) Braucher in 1761(he helped lay the corner stone of the church). He is a direct ancestor of yours and is your 7th great grandfather (if my math is correct).
The church is still there out in the country and they were quite happy to have a Braucher there after several hundred years.
Scott Braucher (he is the oldest son of William Braucher who is your grandfather's younger brother) put together a family history of sorts in the late 70's with his mother Bettye. He is a photographer and has many family pictures that Lester Braucher took.
Your grandfather came and visited our family in Arizona around Christmastime in 1965 or 1966. That is my only memory of seeing him and his family. My middle name is Richard and I was given that name as way of my father honoring is oldest brother. Which of his son's are you the daughter of? Mark, John or Tim?
If you would like I can transfer the memorial of your grandfather to you in find a grave.
