Bio Photo “The living owe it to those who no longer can speak to tell their story for them.”
~Czesław Miłosz, The Issa Valley~

I am a direct descendant of John Thomas Randolph 1704-1735. Most of my information is from "The Randolph's of Prince William County, Virginia" compiled by Blanche Randolph, and her assistants Ora Lee Uzzel-Sharp & Verna Kirby-Wilkerson.
Lines are Randolph/Bland/Cohran/Kirby/Oates/Osborne/Oglesby/Uzzel.

My grandmother was Lena Mae "Choran". Born 08 Dec 1899 in Sevier County, Arkansas and died during childbirth on 25 Apr 1934 in McCurtain County, Oklahoma.

Her father was, John Evans Cohran. He was born in Jan of 1851 in Pauldings County, Georgia. He died about 1925 Choctaw County, Oklahoma. His name is spelled "Cochran" on the 1870 census, "Cohoron" on the 1880 census, "Coin" on the 1900 census. And on marriage records his name was spelled, "Corn" and "Chron". The same is true for every family photo.

I spent ten years trying to connect to the "Cohran Family" of Pauldings County, Georgia. It was only this year, when a cousin from my gr-grandfather's first marriage contacted me, did we successfully put the pieces of this puzzle together. Oh and she is a "Corron"! We are doing DNA testing for this family at our expense. We have only gone back to John A Cohran born abt 1791 in Georgia and he was married to Nancy Hood.

The Adams line is connected to many of the Blairs, Caudills and Whitakers who traveled the same migration path and who married into each others families. Note: my cousin is also a "walden", so there is a tree going back to "Walden's Mountain".

From Surrey & Wilkes Counties North Carolina, to Perry, Harlan, Letcher & Bell, Counties Kentucky to Wise & Scott Counties, Virginia, to Washington D.C. & Kingsport Tennessee.

DNA match to Hogge.

Your Bulling on FAG
I will not be bullied by you on here for leaving beautiful tokens on Find A Grave memorials. Perhaps you need to delete the memorial in question so it will not receive tokens. I am forwarding all message to Find A Grave for their review.

Stop and consider others wishes; especially the dead person you have absolutely no respect for! Are you paid to trash graves. My Mother hates what you are doing! It also looks tacky on other graves.

John Evans Cohran
I am looking into our genealogy for a gift for my father. He is a descendant of John Evans Cohran. I was trying to confirm whether or not the picture on (top left) this page is of him. Thanks!

RE: Baggett-Cohran
I not only love doing this but feel is is important to preserve our history. So many of my ancestors headstones are deteriorating and can hardly be read. This is perfect website in preserving there memorials.

RE: Randolphs McCurtain County
Oops, let me try this again; you can forget the empty message I just sent!

Hi LS, I'm your cousin Carol; we just exchanged messages on Ancestry about our great grandfather Jesse Mason Randolph's service or non-service during the Civil War. As far as how I got maintenance of Mathew Oates' memorial...I'm not sure. I don't recall asking for it--I seldom do ask for transfers as most folks don't want to let loose of them, even if you are a bona fide relative within the F/A/G guidelines and they are not. Let me know if you want any changes or additions made to the memorial and I will gladly accommodate. Carol
