4 men
Also Isham Pool was on the census. Our Henry's first son was named Isham. I understand the connection except Samuel and its likely that Henry, Isham, and Samuel were brothers from Lunenburg Co. VA... Colwell may have been Henry's oldest son by his first marriage as he is in same area on census.

Pettypool/P.Pool/Pool
Hi Libby, I was surfing and found on the 1850 Census that the John S. Pool you reference on Findagrave was b. circa 1806 VA.

I am researching my ancestor Henry Pool who came from Lunenburg co. VA to Montgomery Co. NC.
He brought others of the family with him apparently.
I noticed on the 1810 Montgomery Census that 3 men appear on it. Colwell, Henry and Samuel.
If indeed these men are brothers then their common ancestor was Fredrick Pettypool and wife Ann. Then he was the 3rd Williams son, 2nd , 1st and the first was immigrant William who came to early colonial VA in the 1650 time period. He was a son of Samuel Pettipoole of England proven.
I also noticed a man interested in the Pool name leaving a message.
I will see what else I can find on these Pettypools. Their name shortened in 1800 from Pettypool to P.Pool to Pool..... C.M. Wright

I will let Grady know that your dad Fred remembers him. I am so disappointed that the school was torn down several years ago and a dumpster drop off placed there. I was raised in the Daniel Stutts house behind the schoolhouse; my mom and dad also attended Onvil School. About funding of the marker, I think we have it covered; thanks anyway.

Miles Atlas Poole
I just talked to Grady Goforth and he said he is going to have a marker made for Miles Atlas Poole. I plan to help him place it between Miles' two brothers. Just wanted to let you know. Oh yes, my great grandmother was Lively Jane Poole, married David Alexander Yarboro Sr., buried nearby, off Onvil Road.
