RE: Charles Shawhan
Hi Linda: I really, really appreciate you going "the extra mile"!

Charles Shawhan was born in Bourbon Co. KY into a well-known bourbon distilling family. They settled in Bourbon Co. KY, named because of the bourbon whiskey-producing families who settled there. Charles migrated to MO after 1867, first to Jackson Co., then to Lafayette Co., then back to Jackson Co. His obituary states he was residing in Lone Jack and had done so for 20 years, and the obituary does indeed say he was interred in Lone Jack Cemetery. His mother, Minerva Redmon Shawhan, is interred in Lone Jack Cemetery and there is a photo of her grave marker. His son, John E. Shawhan, is buried at Lee's Summit.

But here is something which I failed to notice earlier: Charlie's wife, Lucy Ann Williams Shawhan, is also stated to be buried at Lone Jack Cemetery (b.c. 1840 KY, d. 12 Jul 1904 at Lone Jack), but she is not listed at all anywhere in Jackson Co. on findagrave. I imagine wherever Charlie and Lucy are, they are together...

Bird Snow
Thanks for taking the time to talk to the caretaker, etc about Birdsell. Do you have the info on the Bird Snow who is documented as being there? I would like to see where he fits in the family.

Charles Shawhan location issue
Thank you so much for trying to track down Charlie. Please let me know when the cemetery at Lee's Summit gets back to you to see if he was laid to rest there. I deeply appreciate your efforts! ~Irene, California
