RE: Henry Wickwire

Many thanks for your help with Henry E Wickwire. My cousin, Guy Wickwire - now deceased, is the person who created the memorial at find a grave for Henry. Guy indicated, which you most likely saw, that the cemetery had misspelled his last name and had his birth date wrong, but from your message, looks like they have it correctly now. Guy also speculated that Henry might have been a casualty of the great 1906 SF earthquake.

But again, many thanks for checking this out.

Try 40.923575 -89.185173. I got that from the google maps. I looked up CR 1875E and the intersection area of CR 2990N.

RE: Hollenback cemetery
I think I took Rt. 3 east out of north Washburn. That road changes to CR 2990 and I followed that to the intersection with CR 1875 E, turning south. The farm is just south on Rt. 1875E on the left side. I saw the clump of trees off to the left before I got to the farm.
When I went there were really tall lillies and rose bushes all over. We had a hard time digging through so I easily could have missed some. There is a plot map (on the homepage for Hollenback by a woman from the Historical Society) where she has a lot of headstones shown in a corner, I did not see those.
It has been a bit dry around here so the plants may be less dense at this time of year.
Good luck on your searches!

RE: Hollenback cemetery
The farm house sits a ways over on the right from the cemetery. I can't remember their name but they are the only farm on that side of the road. You can't get across the creek as it is a deep gulley-have to go around through the farm.

RE: Hollenback cemetery
This small cemetery is located on a farm near Washburn, IL. There is a large creek in front of the field. You have to ask the family for permission and they have to take you through electric fences and farm animals. I went several years ago. The cemetery is a plot in the center of the field. They have a large pig/cattle farm-get the coordinates and go to the farm and ask them to see the cemetery and that your family is there. She was very nice about taking me over (on her day off when she had other things to do). I think the address is online somewhere. Any other ?, check back with me. Good luck!

Henry Adams

I don't know if Find A Grave is wrong about this because they tell me that Anonymous took the photo of Henry but your name is on the photo and Find A Grave directs the reply to you.

So, thanks for taking the time and effort to go and take the photo of Henry.
