Bio and Links
Bio Photo Became interested in family history in 2002. Enjoy tracking down my relatives and ancestors. Enjoy putting the flesh on the bones of their lives and writing articles about them.

This website is a great idea! Supplying photos and burial information - especially for those that live far away - is an invaluable service.

Most of my memorials are for non-relatives. I have included them so that there is a permanent record of their gravestone should the elements spoil it over the years. Too many gravestones are unreadable nowadays and that is sad. How can we ensure the deceased are not forgotten if they have become anonymous?

If you are a relative and would like any of my non-relative memorials transferred to your stewardship, please ask and I'll do my best to oblige. But be aware I react very promptly to edits. If you have something to add to your relative's memorial you can rest assured it will be added (if accurate).

Similarly if you'd prefer that your relative is not memorialised in this way, please let me know and I will remove it. However, please be aware I have not uploaded your relative's grave to be discourteous - just trying to ensure that they and their gravestone still matter and will endure.

RE: Jane Jones
I have just been back on the 'Deceased Online' web site to double check that the Block number was not quoted, which it is not. If you telephone the office (0207 527 6720, I believe) you may need to use your charm to avoid them trying to charge you 15 to do a search. Make it clear that you have the exact burial date (5 October 1910) and that the full location is not given on line - you only need the Block number.

RE: Jane Jones
I managed to spend two full days at the Islington and St Pancras cemeteries in the hope of dealing with the 100 plus photo requests. Despite the office being short staffed and very busy, they were able to provide me with a number of locations but could not meet all my requests. I regret therefore that without the Block number I was unable to take any kind of photo to show the area where Jane Jones had been laid to rest. I have submitted an edit to show that this information is missing. If you wish to retain your photo request you might like to try and find this info, or make it clear to other volunteers that they will need to visit the office for full details and a map showing the area in question. Sorry I could not be of more help.

Jane Jones - Islington cemetery
I'm currently preparing for a visit to Islington cemetery in a couple of weeks time. Having checked the records it would appear that Jane is buried in a communal grave with 14 other people. There is therefore unlikely to be any marker. If I can find this plot do you still want a picture of the piece of land?

I have 1942 written down from the transcript, and I checked the index of BMD notices for the local paper online at the library and a death notice was in the paper on Jan 18 1942. If you like I can go to the library and save a .jpg of the notice and send it to your email. I'll go back to the cemetery on the next sunny day.

re Albert Ballinger in Mount Hope
The transcript for Mount Hope shows his wife as Agnes Luffman Ballinger and she is buried in another section of the cemetery. I have a location so will try to find her next time I am there.

Horace Matthewson
Thank you so much. I imagine I am related to every Matthewson in this cemetery. I hope someday to visit Hevingham. Appreciate your doing this.
