Excellent. Frank's father died 1 year prior to his death and his mother was very ill. Family would have been difficult to find.
Yesterday I contacted Gabriel at Woodlawn Cem. He said he had ordered markers for all the Vets, and is waiting for paperwork for some of them, Frank De Albar included. He did not sound especially happy when I mentioned re-internment at a National Cemetery. He was however, very nice when speaking to me. Your right- I have found that my Uncle was in the Army per 1920 & 1930 Census. Camp Jackon, S. Carolina, then Corozal Army Post, Balboa Dist., Panama Canal Zone. He seemed to be lost and not grounded. I ordered his Death Cert., but have no other info as yet. Will do that per your instructions. Uphill battle-but I will get this done. You are a huge help. Thank you again. Will keep in touch. How do I get my email address to you?
I am so happy I got in touch with you.

I am indebted to you for the information you have given me. I have tried for a couple of years to just get a grave marker, but received no help nor was I given any information as who to contact. It is my great wish to have Frank moved as your suggested and also finally get a grave marker.
When he died, his parents were in California and up in age. His brothers who were Vets also, had died previously, so there was no one to oversee his burial etc.
Thank you so very much. I will start making phone calls and if I get stuck, I hope I can ask questions without being a bother. I called Woodlawn yesterday (I have made several) and the girl suggested I buy a marker. Last time, she stated that he may have been dishonorably discharged and therefore - no marker. I was angry. I'm also amazed at the lack of caring and respect for Veterans.
I promised myself that I would do this for my Uncle and I shall.

Thank you so very much for posting the photo of the Memorial for the 1935 hurricane victims. My great Uncle was one of the Vets who died that day. I am sending a name correction and his birth info.
Name: Frank De Albar
Birth: May 26 1893, Riverside, Riverside CO., California.
He does not have a marker. Are there any other Vets graves that do not have a marker? I am wondering why and can't find anyone who can answer that question.
Thank you again Richard for your contributions. Much appreciated.

Many thanks for your work with Find A Grave, and for solving the mystery of the resting place of Fred Griset. He was a Great Uncle to my Mother-in-Law. In the information it states that he and his wife, Margaret, had no children. In fact they had a daughter who never married. The following from the Washington Post of May 15, 1979:
On Sunday, May 13, 1979, Mary Catherine Griset, daughter of the late Frederick Griset and Margaret Chill Brown. She was a native of the District, and a Federal Reserve Board retiree. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthews Cathedral. Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
I don't know if you have a connection to the family, but given the detail of your posting, you might. Just thought I would share the above info with you.
Again, many thanks, and Best wishes,

Thanks for adding the info, the memorial looks very nice

Richard, Thank you for your contributions to Findagrave. This young man was an orphan by aged 12 in SC and I have finally been able to get him back to his parents and siblings with your help! So much appreciated. Barbara (bjresh)
