|Faith Davidson||RE: Alice Bosen|
Who is your brother? I'm sure he knows my dad. His name is Jim Davidson and our family built the bowling alley here 50 years ago. You may know him too. His sisters name was Sharyn.

I am Kate Myers Great grand daughter. The Alice you are looking for had a store in Thornport and it was called Bosens. My dad Jim Davidson, always talked about Aunt Alice. He lived in Thornport when he was a kid. So you might want to search for that name too. Hope I helped.

This is really fascinating to me. I've been trying to find out about great-Aunt Alice for a long time. I knew she lived in Thornport at one time, but I didn't she was living in Michigan at the time of her death. I've checked cemetery books, Ancestry and Family Search and have been able to find a date of her death or where she's buried. I think I did see a marriage to Charles
Carrier. According to the census she also married a man named Cashbaugh. There's an Alice Cashbaugh in Find-A-Grave, but it's not Alice Patterson.
I don't think Frank's children ever lived with Katie and my grandfather. At least I never heard they did. The only thing my dad told me is that his mother told him her parents(Sam and Lizzie)
died when she was a little girl from an influenza
outbreak. This is supposedly why she and her sister and brothers were placed in an orphanage and eventually went to live with different families. Katie lived with a family named Weller.
I found this wasn't true. Sam died from an accident at work, Lizzie collected money from his employer and placed the children in the county home. She eventually re-married and lived until 1917.
I don't know if my grandmother was angry or embarrased or if she had any contact with her mother or her sister and brothers. I don't want to make a judgement about her. But my dad
never mentioned knowing his aunt or uncles. He was about 16 when Frank died so he would have remembered him. Though I remember Dad telling me about his Mom's cousin who was a popular street car driver in Zanesville. He may have actually been talking about his Uncle Frank.
Thanks for contacting me. As I said, I find this very interesting.

It's great to hear from a member of the Patterson side of the family. I came across your grandmother's obituary and I'm sorry I never got a chance to meet her. From what I've been able to gather the Pattersons seem to have been an interesting family. Please let me known if there's any particular information I can provide.
