Thomas Hamilton Lenox
Tom Lenox married Bowie County, Texas, resident Mrs. Mary Susan (Dickson) Boyce, widow of Doctor William H. Boyce.
It was Dr. Boyce who acquired several thousand acres of land here in Bowie County, and it was a cotton plantation, not actually a ranch.
Dr. Boyce was accidently killed in 1862 by the discharge of a shotgun which fell from a saddle and hit the ground. At the time, he was supervising the crossing of Red River by Confederate troops.
So, the several thousand acres of land were actually in the possession of Mary S. Boyce when she married Tom Lenox.
Does anyone know the whereabouts of Tom Lenox, in 1870?
Thank you.

alter Hilton Photo request

Thanks for trying. I very much appreciate the effort. Just so you know, Walter was buried there according to his obituary and now I know not to tell his descendants they might see his grave there.

Again thanks,

RE: T.H. Lenox
Thank you so much! I would imagine that Lenox Hill cemetery sits on what was once the huge ranch that Tom Lenox bought after the Civil War when he left Missouri. He and one of his other brothers, David F. Lenox, (also buried in Texas) bought ranches in Texas. They, as well as two other brothers and their father were Confederate soldiers. Regards, Garrett

T.H. Lenox
Hello, Thank you for adding T.H. Lenox and the cemetery info. I have searched so long for his grave! Some friends and I recently restored the Hamilton Lenox cemetery in Elk Prairie, Phelps Co. Mo. (near Rolla). The cemetery lies on the old Lenox farm where T.H. (Thomas "Tom" Hamilton Lenox) was raised. There are still some Lenoxs' around. Are you a descendant of the Lenoxs'?? Would you please add Tom's mother as a link? Her findagrave mem.# is 105034881. Also could you add T.H.'s full name; Thomas Hamilton "Tom" Lenox?? Thank you, Garrett Gabel

RE: Transfer
I will be glad to transfer your relatives. Could you go to the edit button on each memorial you want and ask for the transfer with your Find A Grave number in the edit box. It makes it so much easier and it keeps me from transferring the wrong person to the wrong person.. Thanks Deb
