I'm a proud Army Brat. Born in Occupied Japan, lived in Germany for 3 years and several U.S. States. I've been in New York since 1970. Retired to Gallatin TN in 2014|
I find cemeteries fascinating. 1st Calvary (Woodside, NY) was five minutes from my workplace and as long as weather permits I brown bagged my lunch and went going there every day with a book for about 25 years.
My ancestors hail from Minnesota, South Dakota, Maine, Massachusetts, Canada, Germany (Prussia), Galicia (Austria-Hungary), Ireland, England (and before that Normandy), Norway and Sweden. I've been working on my genealogy since the early 1970's and I love it when I connect with new cousins.

Hi Susan, thank you for all the information you sent on the Cages buried in Gallatin City Cemetery. There are already Find A Grave pages for them, and none appear to be any that I am missing. Your time and efforts are much appreciated! Catherine

I have hit a bit of a stone wall with the Koenigs in Calvary. I know that Peter (Memorial# 110241037) and Margaret (Memorial# 110241063) are buried in Section 8, Range 35, Plot BB. The office at Calvary say that there are a total of 5 people in that plot. I do not have names and dates for any of the other three and Calvary will give me the names for a fee of $110. Not having a spare $110 to give them, I am unable to obtain the information.

Thank you very much for considering my request. As we approach April, for many reasons, I hope your weather gets warm and wonderful soon.

About a year ago, you claimed my request for a photo of the grave marker of my 2nd great grandparents, Peter (Memorial# 110241037) and Margaretha (Memorial# 110241063) Koenig in Calvary Cemetery (Section 8, Range 35, Plot BB, Grave 9). I am most grateful to you for posting the photo to their memorials. Since then, I have learned that there are three other individuals in the same grave area, but do not know their names. Would you be so kind, on your next visit to Calvary, to see if there are markers with the surname Koenig, Konig, or King in the plot? If there are, would you be kind enough to photograph the markers and provide me with the names in order that I can create memorials for them. There are seven known possibilities - Mary, Peter, Andrew, Joseph, Margaret, Johannes, and Anna. There an additional three children whose name I do not have, yet.

Many thanks for going in search of a memorial for Sheldon Bodden. Sad that there was nothing to be found but your efforts are appreciated. I have asked the page contributor to put a note on the page to the effect that there is no marker.

Thanks for checking for his remains at Fresh Pond Crematory...interesting that he is not in a niche there...I hope to find a photograph of Franz one day.
|Ron Haymore||Re: Sarah Alexander|
Thank you very much for the time and effort you spent in attempting to find the niche for Sarah Alexander. Also thank you for the contact information.
Because her remains aren't at the crematory I'm guessing that her niece, with whom she was living at that time, took possession of them.
Thanks again for all you help.
