 | RE: Searching for family members in Charles City County, VA Rosa,
I have now finished posting all the burials in the old cemetery at First Gravel Hill Baptist Church behind the parsonage. Since the parsonage cemetery is separate from the church cemetery I created a new cemetery for the burials behind the parsonage. I recognize many of the names you listed as your relatives - Hill and Bradby.
I hope you find the folks you are looking for.

 | RE: Searching for family members in Charles City County, VA Hi Rosa,
Good to hear from you. Welcome to Find A Grave. My hobby is photo-documenting cemeteries. I go out when the weather is nice and photograph all the tombstones in a cemetery and then over the next several weeks I post the information and photos to Find A Grave. My goal is to get the information online so relatives can find their ancestors and increase what they know about their family history.
I live in Williamsburg and have done all the cemeteries in James City County over the last several years so I started to branch out into Charles City County. Now I am working southside and have focused on Isle of Wight, Surry and Southampton Counties over the last several months. I am retired so I have plenty of time work on my hobby.
I recognize many of the names you mentioned in your family - Hughes, Holmes, Bradby, Hill - and have posted many memorials for members of those families over the last several years. Specifically, you mentioned First Gravel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. I photographed that one and posted the results to Find A Grave several months ago now. Yesterday (the weather was nice so I was out taking pictures) when I drove by First Gravel Hill Baptist Church I noticed some tombstones behind the house next to the church that I missed. From your note that is probably the parsonage you mentioned. The next time I am in that area I will stop and ask permission to photograph those tombstones. They may (or may not) be the relatives you are looking for.
I am willing to transfer all the memorials I have created for members of your family to you if you would like. That is why I do what I do on Find A Grave. That way you could add pictures or additional information to their memorials as a way of documenting their lives.
I much prefer to work email to email instead of posting long notes on the Find A Grave page if you don't mind. You can contact me at RoninNVA@cox.net and I will provide all the help that I can.
