|Thomas||RE: Sec Nelson grave|
You asked source for the burial location of Sec Thomas Nelson, particularly Crace Church. All church records were destroyed in the 1930's due to a huricane which dumped a safe containing such into the York River. As there was one primary burial ground in Yorktown which contained a number of his immediate relatives, I concluded it was Grace. His father and mother, his brother, and nephew were buried at Grace. Here is the quote I justed added to FIND A GRAVE:
"Secretary Nelson died there in 1782, aged 66. He was buried (Yorktown). There is no tombstone over his grave, and no portrait of him exists. This was also true, no tombstone, of Governor Thomas Nelson, Jr. who was buried at the foot of his father's tomb, Pres. William Nelson of the Council. (Genealogy of the Page Family of Virginia, Richard Channing Moore Page, 1883, page 149 & 169)"
