You took a few photos for me last month in the Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery. One we believed to be Hugh. Well, after looking at the stone for some time, I knew it didn't say Hugh, but wasn't sure what it did say. You know how you can look at something for awhile and not really see what it says? Well, today I looked at it and saw it. It says Elizabeth, but I wasn't able to make out the last name, but I saw an S and two E's. So, I looked at the list of people buried in the cemetery and saw the name Elizabeth Speer, and that is the mystery stone.
There are no photos listed on her site, so I wanted to let you know so you could move the photo to her site. Hugh's stone is still out there somewhere, but for now it remains a mystery.
Thank you so much for your help.

thanks so much! I have sent a message to the owner of their memorials asking to correct the spelling of the last name- much appreciated!
Thank you so much for the pictures you took. They are very much appreciated. I wasn't expected anything, and not only did you give me the pictures, you sent them the very next day! How's that for service.

I would love a picture of that stone at your convenience. Would you also mind taking a picture from of all the stones together? I believe these 3 are the only McClurkan's in the cemetery. I'm trying to find some older ancestors. They settled in Pennsylvania from Ireland and I have very little information from this time. I believe Hugh to be one of the earliest ancestors to the US.
Thanks for your help.

Thank you so very much. I wasn't expecting a response, much less such a quick one. It's very much appreciated.
Do you have a photo of Hugh McClurkan also? I'm amazed at how well the stones look.

Jason Goddard's mother was Sarah Jane Henry. Her brother was my great-great-grandfather, Elijah Henry.
Both Sarah and Elijah's parents were Jonas and Dorcas Henry. Jason first shows up in records in a Census done in 1880 as "Jason Henry" and is living with Jonas and Dorcas. Family legend is that Sarah Jane had an affair with Lemuel Goddard long before she married Friend Benjamin Minor in 1878.
In 1891, Jason Henry married Alvaretta Yoho, using the name "Jason Goddard", but when he answers the 1900 Census, he uses the name Jason "Henry" and lists children as having the last name of "Henry". By 1906, Jason has remarried and his new wife is Bertie Anderson. When we get to the 1910 Census, we find Jason listing his last name as "Goddard" and all of the children from his 1st marriage as well as new children being listed with the last name of Goddard.
Jason passes away in 1949 and it lists on his death certificate "Lem Goddard and Sarah Jane Henry" as his parents. However, over the years, no records have ever been found of Lemuel Goddard and Sarah Jane Henry ever actually being married.
