I started researching my family's genealogy in the spring of 2010. I had no idea I'd become as obsessed as I have!

I'm very lucky that almost all of my ancestors immigrated to Cincinnati or Covington so it's very easy for me to go to cemeteries and find "my people." I love walking through these old Cincinnati and Covington cemeteries.

Kerkhoffs connected?
I'm researching Joseph Kerkhoff, b Mar 1862 in Germany, immigrated 1883 or 1884, m Charlotte Mohlmann in Cincinnati in 1887, died Nov 1929 in Cincinnati, buried in St. Joseph Old, and was wondering whether he's related to your Casper Kerkhoff:

Thanks.

PS: Here's my WorldConnect file on Joseph:

RE: Maria Katharina KŘhr
The death return made by her physician in Covington provided the information. After looking at it again I did misread her age at death which looks to be 74 years.

I was going through some records my cousin sent, and she found Catholic baptismal records for the nephews and nieces of my direct ancestors. So they were Catholic when they arrived in Cincinnati!

I have an Excel database of most of the 19th century directories for Brand and Brandt, and some other info you might find useful. If you would like it, send me a message at nagahogep@icloud.com. If nothing else, I'd be interested to know which Brands you are related to. :)

RE: Joseph and Rosa Brand
Joseph, his children and his mother are the only ones from that family that are buried as Catholics. However, I've read there was a lot of anti-pope talk, etc. in Cincinnati back then and a lot of people switched to the German Methodist church (I know Joseph's brother-in-law did). I'm not sure what church, if any, the rest of the Brand brothers were attending when they died. They're buried in Spring Grove, which used to only do cremations, which Catholics couldn't do back then.

Good luck with your search, if you find a link let me know. Thanks too for the transfers!

Please go ahead and transfer them, that would be great.

My Brands include most of the Brand musicians in Cincinnati - Michael, John, Andrew, George and Joseph (all originally from Bavaria); many of their sons were musicians too. If you find a link, let me know and I can share lots of info!

Thank you!

Joseph and Rosa Brand
Hello -
Thanks for the memorial for Joseph (115939713) and Rosa (115939751) Brand. They are my gg-grandparents. Are you related to them?

Their sons are buried in the same grave, I'm going to add their names.

RE: Frederick Meyer
I had his memorial there back in May 2012. It's OK...you had the family links so it was best that you kept yours for him :-)
