 | RE: re: William Jordan Clayton Thomas was the son of Samuel Clayton who married his first cousin Ann Coleman; and the grandson of Philip Clayton (1702-1786) & Ann Coleman whose farm in Culpeper, Virginia, came to be called "Catalpa" after the trees Philip dragged across the countryside and planted there. | | | Anthony Clayton
 | RE: Major Philip Clayton Hello Edward, I do not descend from this line of Clayton's. This line, are all distant cousins dating back to England. My line is from William Cleaton/Clayton.

 | re: William Jordan Clayton your gg grandfather, then Robert Pollard Clayton your ggg grandfather, then your ggggs Thomas & Sarah (Cunningham) Clayton, brings your line to our mutual ancestor, Samuel Clayton of Culpeper, Virginia & Ann Coleman, his wife. m. 12 July 1757.
I descend from Sam&Ann Clayton's son, Sam, who married Catharine Price in 1786 and set off for the wilds of Kentucky in 1792, their son George Price Clayton b. 1797 in Bourbon Co. Ky, George's son, Sam, was born there in 1825 and by 1827 the little family had moved on to Crawford County, Illinois, where GPClayton died in 1838. My gg grandfather Samuel Thomas Clayton married Elizabeth (Simmons) in Illinois and they came to Green County, Wisconsin where my great grandmother Libby Clayton was born, married Jacob Baumgartner in 1877 and died 10 Apr 1899, eight days after my grandmother was born.

 | RE: Hayward Clayton Hi,
I have no connection at all to your uncle. I'm just trying to give back, preserve and honour those that have passed before us.
Regards, Raylene | | |
