Just your average person interested in preserving Connecticut history and helping others do the same. |
When I go to a cemetery I take lots of photos and I enjoy putting them on this site where they belong.
I try to do my best with spellings and dates on very faded stones...I research from different resources available. Sometimes you can stand there for 30 minutes bending over backwards but you can't turn back the hands of time...

Hi Karen, Nice work. Thank you for the memorial and pictures from Union Cemetery. One may be my 6th great-grandmother, Hannah (Bradford) Buell. Do you have any pictures of the area next to this marker? Still looking for her spouse, Timothy Buell, son of William and Elizabeth.

Hi Karen. I saw a photo caption mentioning the spelling GriFwold. That is not really an F, it is a 'German S'. If you look at a scan of the original Bill of Rights, you see that Congress appears to be spelled 'Congrefs'.

Yes, I could manage the memorial, until a closer relative steps forward. It would be an honor.
