I got started helping Find A Grave because I was so touched by the photos that someone took of some of my ancestors headstones, that I decided to pay it forward.

I try to do my best taking pictures of the whole family group so you will know just what the grave site looks like where they are buried.

In 2009 I decided that I would write the history of the Courtland Township in Nicollet County, Minnesota where I live. It had not been done and I thought it would be fun to do. Little did I know that it would turn out to be three years before I would get it published, and it would make so many people so happy! The book is entitled Courtland the early years: 1855 - 1910. Besides chapters on the blizzards, grasshopper plague, the military record of the men who enlisted, schools, churches, pioneer stories, and a few more subjects, I had decided to name every person who moved here or was born here until about 1900. There are 325 different surnames, and more than 200 pictures many of which are of the pioneers.

The book can be obtained from me, or from the Brown County and Nicollet County Historical Societies. It is $19.95 plus shipping, and sales tax for Minnesota.

Thanks for the photo of the subject at New Ulm City Cemetery back almost two years. I hadn't revisited the record since then and just now found it.

Thanks,

Al

Schleuder grave photos
Thank you very much for the excellent photos of the gravestones for the Schleuder family; I really appreciate them!

I noticed in the photos that there are also a couple of Schwerzler ladies on the stele. Margaret (Adam) Schwerzler was Magdalena's mother and Rosina (Gulden) Schwerzler was the wife of Magdalena's brother John Schwerzler. Will you be creating memorials at Find a Grave for these two women, or would you like for me to do that?

Thanks again!

Re: Rev. Henry R. Ehrhard
Hello, Sheila, just a quick note to thank you for the transfer of Father Ehrhard's memorial. I am already added additional info and linked him to his parents and siblings. I am so appreciative of your efforts and am happy we have "worked" together.

RE: Mary Didemea Maxwell
You are very welcome. I am going to try and get a better image. They recently cut a tree down by the 2 Maxwell markers and that is why they look so bad with tree sap dripping on them for so many years.
