RE: Joseph & Mary
I will most certainly do that. Now that the snow is gone I can get back out there. It is still very cold and rainy, will wait for a sunny day for good pics.

Good morning!

Thanks for your kind words..transferring was a "no brainer". No thanks are necessary, it is Eastern Cemetery and everyone there needs to be with those who care. Saw that you had added info and the links and am appreciative of that.

I have absolutely no words to offer for your second paragraph, other than a very sincere, "thank you". For once, I'm speechless.

Hi,

Wow, you have done a lot. I was very happy to transfer to you. If you find anyone else, just let me know. If they aren't related to me or one of the friends I help and collect for, I'm happy to transfer.
Good luck with confirming the mother. Let me know. Now I'm curious. :)

Hi Barbara,

My pleasure and I'm sorry to discover Irma didn't have a marker. There are empty marker spaces on either side him Irma being on the right of him. I did take a picture though from afar of his marker viewing the empty spaces. I'll email them to you.

I hear ya on the weather. Our weather has been so beautiful the pass couple of weeks being in the 80's. This week it's suppose to cool down to the late 70's. At least we can fulfill photo requests:)

HI! Theodore's marker was almost totally buried and I did not have my 'cemetery kit' that day... went back and cleaned him up a bit....

On another note, the cemetery had an extreme case of vandalism last week... more than 70 stones were knocked over... Whitman banded together and with donations and our DPW and cemetery staff have it retored...

Your family was not impacted (mostly the section directly behind them).

RE: Robert, Emma & Elizabeth
Hi Sabu,

Sorry about the mostly blank message on your wall, that's what I get for trying to send via my phone.

That's interesting that the sexton knew. I volunteer at Oakland and I used the books to see where the headstones were. If a headstone is missing or a person is buried in the potter's field, it's supposed to be noted in the book. I guess it hasn't been updated.

As an FYI, if these people are your relatives and they were in the military, the federal government will make a headstone for you. I don't know of all the details, but I know it is possible to get things done this way.

Best of luck,

Cynthia

Hello, Its my pleasure to help out when I can and its fun for me...As long as the snow has not covered the Ground Markers or the Headstones I can always give it a go...West Roxbury is about 12 miles from me so within my realm...Franklin is further away but on a nice warm Spring or Summer day it would be a nice ride and my wife has me out of her hair for a while....If you have a good idea in what sections and plots the burials are, it makes finding them a lot quicker...Just as you did with the MacCarthy request....I visit Blue Hill often so I am familiar with the sections there...Please don't hesitate to ask....All the best for a safe and shovel free winter, Ed
