RE: Cruise family search
Kyle,
You are very welcome. I love going to "new" cemeteries that I have not previously visited so I enjoyed doing it.

I thought the same thing about the other James B Campbell. I could not find a marriage record for Anna & Campbell so we can only guess.

I thought you might like to have the occupations for Joseph Sr from census records:

1910 - Clerk in a Railroad Office
1920 - Salesman for a Dental Supply Co.
1930 - Sales manager for a Supply Co.
1940 - Sales Manager for a Dental Supply Co.

When going back to the census records to gather the above I also found something interesting--didn't catch it before because I didn't have her name. In 1940 Joseph's 2nd wife Louise was living with the family---as their maid.
Best of luck with your research,
Margie

RE: Cruise family search
Kyle,
I went to Chartiers Cemetery yesterday. Everyone had tombstones (a rare thing in my family!). I have uploaded the photos for all.
James B. Campbell, buried with Anna, is her son from her first marriage. I am assuming son Robert is Joseph & Anna's son. There is no death date so it is likely he is still alive.

The man at the cemetery asked if Guibert's were related because on the records he brought out (huge poster board with all names handwritten) it looked like the plot in Section G for Joseph Sr and the Guibert plot next to it were all one. He really was not sure and I couldn't tell by looking at the poster board. Oscar Guibert is buried next to James Cruise with a large Guibert stone next to Oscar. I uploaded photos for Oscar too. The other Guiberts are buried in the row in front of our Cruise's.

The name doesn't ring a bell with me. I did a little research and the Guiberts lived in Crafton which is right next to Carnegie and owned a Steel Mill in the 1920's. If I find any connection I will let you know.
Margie

RE: Cruise family search
Kyle,
I had been wanting Zetta's exact death date also--hoped to find an obit but had no luck. I was surprised at first also when Joseph's obit said Louise was his wife. But I have found this quite frequently in my research. Zetta's father also married a woman much younger after her mother died.
I suspect the 1889 year of birth is correct even though the marriage record says different. Through ancestry.com records including Social Security death record, WWI and WWII draft registrations the year is 1889. Maybe he felt a need to shave off a few years since marrying someone much younger?? The only other record I have for Louise is the Social Security death record and her birth year is 1918.

RE: Cruise family search
Kyle,
Thank you for all the grave plot details--will be very helpful. Depending on the weather I hope to be able to visit the cemetery a week from this coming Saturday--will let you know. I will also check surrounding graves--I have learned from experience that you never know who you might find!
I don't know what Zetta's middle name was. But she did have an aunt named Veronica who I think was close to the family (Veronica actually raised Zetta's younger sister when their mother died) so that may be a possibility.
I would have assumed Louise was the wife of James also. But I found Joseph Sr.'s obit--Louise was his second wife. Here is the link to Joseph's obit in the Pgh Post Gazette and the marriage license with Louise from Family Search.

Obit--link will take you to front page, type in page 9 at top.

RE: Ludwig family
Sorry, Kyle. No relation to the Ludwigs. I was at the cemetery looking for other relatives of mine and added memorials for those I found without one.

Ludwig's
I saw that you added George and some other family members! I'd be happy to share the information I have with you. I have some documents for Benneville if you're interested. He died of gangrene due to complications from an ingrown toenail! If you don't already have Peter Ludwig's last will & Mary's obit, I can send you them. Beyond their generation, my trail gets pretty meager, but will look tomorrow when I get my computer and the info back. Good to hear from you BTW!
