Bio and Links
Bio Photo We are a group people with a common interest: we all have adopted one or more graves at one of the cemeteries this database covers. We have met each other at the adoptiegraven forum: www.adoptiegraven.nl/forum/

There, an idea was initiated a few years ago to found a database where everyone would be able to seek for information about the men and women who are buried at the American War Cemeteries Ardennes, Henri-Chapelle and Margraten. They give their lives for our freedom and we hope that we are able to pay them the respect they deserve. The link to this fantastic database is: www.fieldsofhonor-database.com

The Fields of Honor - Database is a project of the Dutch non-profit organization Stichting Verenigde Adoptanten Amerikaanse Oorlogsgraven (Foundation United Adopters American War Graves). For more information about this foundation, please visit our website: www.adoptiegraven.nl

Earl R. Downey
Dear all,

my name is Erwin de Mooij and I am the content webmaster for the 457th Bomb Group Association website.

At this moment I am working on a virtual cemetery/memorial on the website honering all 339 KIA/MIA/KIS of the group.

I saw your picture of Earl R. Downey's grave marker and I was wondering if I could use it for the memorial. If you made any other photos of 457th BG members would I be able to use these too?

We would greatly appreciate it.

Best regards,

Erwin de Mooij

We are so very grateful for your service in finding the brave hero's grave marker and photographing it for us. Your service is remarkable and your sacrifice is a great tribute to the fallen. Thank you so much and please let us know if there is anything we can do.
