I found FindAGrave after my grandparents passed away and it led me to the hobby I now have. I can remember sitting around my grandparents and listening to them tell all who was related to us and stories of days past. |
Now that they are gone, I find myself literally digging through the past whether it be online records or walking through cemeteries piecing the puzzles of history together.
I enjoy finding old cemeteries lost to history. It's not to add to numbers, but to document history. I'm not above asking private owners or clawing my way through the bushes and overgrowth to document these memorials before it's too late.
I always welcome additional information that you might have to add to a memorial. Not all of mine are connected to family as times does not permit me to research every single one.
If you ask for a transfer, please include your member info, and it should be family.

Thank you so much for so nicely alerting me to my error. I try as best I can not to make duplicates but.....oh, well. I have removed this one with many thanks for telling me of its correct location.

Thank you for the photo. Have a wonderful day.
I have been researching my family history and have had some success. I was trying to locate the grave of my Grandmother Mary Josephine (Carroll) Jones and Delano Jones. From what I was told by family memebers Mary was buried in Galilee Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. She was born in 1936 and died at age 26. My Grandfather Delano Jones was born 11/18/1933 and died 12/03/1989. He was living in (Escambia County) Atmore AL and I don't know if he was buried in Atmore or in (Lauderdale County) Florence AL. Any help you can provide finding there grave would be greatly appreciated.
You are very welcome
