RE: James P. Utley
Hi Peggy,
My Grandmother was Marjorie Jean Utley Davis. Her father was William Perry Utley # 92249231. His Parents were Merritt Harrison Utley & Mattie Blackburn Utley Moad. My Grandmother Marjorie called her Grandmother Mattie Moad. The father of Merritt was James Perry Utley, my 3rd Great Grandfather. You would be the same generation as my Mother Marilyn Davis.

John's stone was buried under about an inch of dirt. The only part showing had been his death date. I had the grounds crew dig it out earlier this week so I could get a photo, but they didn't clean it. As I don't feel comfortable cleaning the stones based on F-A-G's rules regarding that, I'm going to go back after we've had a good rain and see if nature cleaned it for us. If so, I'll get a better photo then.

I also transferred John's parents to you. They were buried between John & Frances.

RE: iPhone picture resolution
Since I own a Samsung I'll need to ask someone but it may be that you zoomed in on-screen to the memorial. The more you zoom in, the lower the quality (pixel size) of the image will be.

For my phone, when the camera is up, I can select the tools icon, and from a menu, select resolution. I suspect the iPhone has something like that.

Cornelia George
Peggy:

Thanks for getting this gravestone picture. I have about a half-dozen other George pictures for New Bethel that I am saving for a single request in about a week. One request is that you set your iPhone at higher resolution. 355x448 does not give enough detail.

MT. OLIVE CEMETERY
Peggy,

The Mt. Olive Cemetery in Lynnville, Warrick Co., Indiana was formerly known as the McSwane Cemetery. If you will look at the photo of the cemetery monument, you will see that the land for the cemetery was donated by Isaac McSwane who was a pioneer and resident of the Mt. Olive community. I don't know when the name was changed, but, you do have the correct cemetery.

Karen
