Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family history and the Find A Grave website has been a great help.

In addition to memorials for those in my family, I have added memorials for many non-relatives in the hope that the memorials will help others as they have helped me with my family history. My favorite cemeteries in El Paso are Concordia and Evergreen Alameda. I have learned about the history of El Paso and its people through my work on Find A Grave.

I am willing to transfer a memorial if you are related and I am not.

Please feel free to use the headstone photos for your genealogical records.

I greatly appreciate all the Find A Grave volunteers who have created memorials for my family members and filled my requests for a headstone photos! :-)

John Walter Yates (died 1924)
is John Walter Yates related to the Margaret B. Yates (died 1927) who is buried very close by ? I strongly suspect that John Walter Yates (died 1924) is buried in W-0058-0, where his wife is buried, unless he is related to Margaret B. Yates and he might be buried with her. Section W started to be used about 1905 and I think most plots were sold by the 1940s. The plots here were sold in groups of four, but if some were unused they were later sold off individually in the 1940s and 1950s. Many of the gravestones in Sec W are expensive ones.

Annie Greensoint - Memorial #127829886

I believe this is my G-Great Grandmother Annie Greenslitt and her name has just been mispelled. Most likely because her headstone was difficult to read. She and her husband John lived in EL Paso and both are buried at Evergreen Cemetery. Annie was born in 1849 in Pennsylvania and died Feb. 27, 1894 in El Paso, Texas. I have been told Annie is buried in Section S, Lot 11, Space 3 and John is buried in Section S, Lot 13, Space 1. He was born Mar. 14, 1839 in Ohio and died Apr. 20, 1905 in El Paso, Texas. He also served in the Civil War. I was also told that Annie was the "first" burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Hopefully you will be able to add this information and your hard work is very much appreciated. Thank you, Lynn Hathaway Wonsetler

Frederick Yates
Hi. It seems you had a photo request for Frederick Yates, and a different person (Sharon Fluney)had a photo request for his wife Annie. There is no gravestone for either one, however it appears their daughter in law is buried in this plot. Here is her marriage info:
DATE OF MARRIAGE: 05/05/1920
There are also some other Yates buried very close by, and I will add their photo soon.

the large family gravestone shows several people that are different than the cemetery's records. Maybe I need to go back and look for footstones that sank into the ground. Do you know the connections among all these people ? I will send you the list of people from the cemetery's official records.
