Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love history and genealogy. Several years ago, I acquired property which included a cemetery that dated back to the early 1800's. In my efforts to learn more about this cemetery, I utilized Find A Grave and other resources in my search and the results were that not only was I able to learn about those at rest there, but in the process, help some nice people locate the graves of their ancestors. Sometime later, I acquired property in another state in a community that included an undocumented cemetery and I began a research project of this site which resulted in the writing of a book titled "The Baxter Cemeteries of Rutherford County North Carolina." Archival family documents and information uncovered during the course of research for this book were integral in the development of a second book titled "A History of the Baxter Cemetery Camp Creek" by Charles E. Cabler. Both of these books have been published by the Old Buncombe County Genealogical Society of Asheville North Carolina. I continue in my work to research and learn as much as I can about the families in both cemeteries and to accurately and responsibly document their history.

Hi Sherri,

In regards to my request to a photo of Henry's grave u had reported back that the cemetery said his grave was unmarked. There must be a plot unmarked or marked that he is buried although he doesn't it sounds like have a grave stone? Could you get a picture of that plat for me? I'd much appreciate it and a number for it too maybe?
Thanks for all your help with this.

RE: Lucy Placke
Thanks so much for the info on Lucy Placke. I agree completely, Some cemeteries are great about providing accurate information and others tell you there isn't a stone just to be done with you. I've been told that numerous times and have ended up finding a headstone.
Thanks again,

Thank you for reporting that the grave of Thomas Marshall in Crown Hill Cemetery is unmarked. I did not know that or I would not have wasted your time by asking for a tombstone photo.

I appreciate your help.

You have added to what I know about the Marshall side of my family.
