DORIS HAISTON HOFFMAN
Of Reston, VA, a former flight attendant with United Airlines and long time member of Clipped Wings died August 10, 2007 of congestive heart failure at the age of 85. She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa and graduated from Christian College in Columbia, MO and University of Nebraska with a degree in education. She studied ballet in New York City and was accepted by the Radio City Rockettes Ballet Company before joining United Airlines in 1942. She met and married Jack M. Hoffman in 1944 and had seven children. She was actively involved in fundraising for many charitable organizations, especially for the mentally challenged. A rose garden was dedicated to her for her lifetime of work in 2003 at the Northern Virginia Training Center in Fairfax, VA. Her husband preceded her in death in 1996 after 52 years of marriage. She lived in Reston, VA for 22 years and was a parishioner of St. Thomas a Becket Catholic church. Survivors include sister, Joanne O'Brien, Billings, MT; children, Brian Hoffman of Rockville, MD, Cheryl Russell of Clarksburg, MD, Leslee King of Fairfax, VA, Luellen Maskeny of Fairfax, VA, Patrick Hoffman of Bethesda, MD, Michael Hoffman and William Hoffman of Fairfax, VA; grandchildren, Keith and Kevin King, Karen King Hodson, Chris and Colleen Russell, John and Mark Maskeny, Matthew, Spencer and Landon Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Jack, Luke and Thomas King. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. at ADAMS-GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 13 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas a' Becket Catholic Church, 1421 Wiehle Ave, Reston, VA. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Capital Hospice or the Northern VA Training Center.

I was researching, and found an memorial existing at Culpeper National Cemetery for Jack Hoffman on Find-A-Grave. He did die 7 Jul 1996 in Culpeper, Va. so I believed the memorial to be correct. His wife Doris Haiston Hoffman (d) 10 Aug 2007 is also supposedly buried with him.
I'd appreciate it if you could check with the cemetery office one more time. Whether you are successful or not, I appreciate your efforts.
