Thank you for your time to track down this headstone. So sad that it is in such bad repair. Vandals, I suspect.

Thank you again.

Thank you, Betty, for taking the time to photograph pictures of the Page family. What a big help this has been.

Pleasant View Plaque
I found it! I sent you an email with a not very good picture of the monument and plaque.

RE: Fort Knox cemeteries
Hi! Yes, I wish they were open more often also. I remember seeing the dedication plaque in the west cemetery and it was placed on a cement base, resting just above ground level, it was to the east of most of the burials, you can see it as you walk through the access gate.

They normally has cemetery visitation from about 8 AM until 4 PM. They should have a check point that you have to stop at on Wilson Road right before the training area that you will pass through on your way toward Pleasant View.

RE: Fort Knox cemeteries
Visiting is on the Federal Holiday, Monday.

I have visited both Pleasant View cemeteries and they are very easy to get to, but are in the training area so you have to wait until Memorial Day. They two cemeteries were a single cemetery once, but a well-travelled dirt road in the training area has now divided it into two cemeteries.

I am familiar with them and can provide directions to the cemeteries if you do not know how to get to them. If you are looking for a specific person, there is a small chance that I may be able to tell you roughly where that person is buried if I have photographed the headstone.

RE: Hurt-Defevers Cemetery
Hi again Betty,
If you check out the Find A Grave site, I went over last year and took photos of all the graves there. There are actually two separate fences, two separate entrances, dividing it into two different areas. Don't really know the reason for that though. If there's one you can't find, I'll be happy to go there and look again. I really think I got all of them but it is possible I could have overlooked one. There was one old one I need to go back for anyhow as the photo was a bit blurred and I didn't catch it at the time.
Have a wonderful day!
Cheryl

RE: Hurt-Defevers Cemetery
Hi Betty,
The Hurt Defevers Cemetery is fenced and it is in the middle of a pasture field however, it's actually mowed quite often. The last time I was there the guy who mows it said he tried to keep it up as best he can. It's just a short walk to it.
Hope this helps.
