|Nancy Cornelius||Old Albertville Cemetery|
I saw where you had a Bentley that married the Scott family in this cemetery. This cemetery is the pre Civil war cemetery that the city up keeps. It is said that the back of the cemetery is a unmarked slave cemetery. No one has been buried in this cemetery for some time. The city has 4 different cemeteries that they try to up keep. There are a lot of Scotts in the area. A friend of mine from find a grave, Maria, is connected to that family. I believe she may have taken the picture of your family member.
|Nancy Cornelius||Garrard family|
There is a family history book written about this family in a local library. You might be able to access this book on line. "Garrards from Sand Mountain Alabama" My husband's family is distantly connected to the Garrard family and has some interesting stories. Your family might be noted in this book.
|Nancy Cornelius||RE: James Franklin Bently|
Seems like I remember some other sand stones around James that I could not find a name on. Like I said before the Garrard family has a lot of old stones in the area so one of the stones more than likely belong to the Garrard wife.... since he is buried there. There are several Bakers across the road in this cemetery. The part across the road is also an older part of the cemetery. I'll need to check on this as soon as it quits raining around here and I get a minute. As far as the Fisher family. Gus was from Germany and has a community named after him in DeKalb Co. AL.

Thank You so much for the help on this memorial. It makes a lot of sense now... the Garrard family stones are just back behind this stone going toward the back gate of the cemetery.
Are you connected to the Gus Fisher/ Fischer family in DeKalb Co. If so we may be distantly connected through the McSpadden family.

We went to school together. I had Alvis's son, Joshua. He is 31 and would love to connect with any of his paternal family. If you are in any doubt, please contact me and I can send photos to verify. We found Gene Srs, Peggy's and Alvis's obituaries. My son wants nothing other than to know where he came from. Thanks, Lisa

Thank you, Donny, for sharing the picture of Riley Wilson Fisher. He was my grandfather, Jasper Willett's cousin. Jasper Willett was named for his uncle, Jasper Fisher.

I have added the information you provided to Alexander's record. Thank you for your kind offer to share Fisher family info. I would be interested in the decendants of Sarah Ann Boyle (aka Mires) Fisher. I am a descendant of John Boyle, a younger brother of Sarah's father William Boyle, and have Boyle family information I can share if you are interested.
