RE: Eunice Wilson Ray Downs
Eunice (Nicey) Wilson married John Deweese on 1-28-1860 in Macon County NC. Both were from the Nantahala Community. John was killed in the Civil War.
On 3-19-1864 she married Wilburn Ray, who had been wonded and lost a leg.
After the death of Wilburn in 1876 she was married to Zachariah Alexander (Zack) Downs, 7-20-1879.

She was my great-great grandmother by way of her marriage to Wilburn Ray and their son, Harve P. Ray.

RE: Lenora Day Wilson Brooks 125227347
Hi Kim, thank you for your message and it's very nice to meet you. I did not include Wilson in her name here because at the time of death, her last name was Brooks. Unless the name is hyphenated, I don't include more than one married last name.

This is what Find a Grave says about this question:

How do I enter all married names for a woman's memorial when she was married more than once?

The 'last name' is the name that is on the headstone. Include other married names as part of the biography section. The 'maiden name' is only for her maiden name.

I am happy to transfer her memorial to you and you can fix it however you choose to. Thank you for coming forward requesting the transfer.

Sincerely, Vickie
