|MissKitty||Simeon Abbe gravestone photo|
May I have your permission to download the photo of the gravestone of Simeon Abbe (Memorial# 60710999)?
I would like to upload it into my Ancestry family tree.
Thank you for your consideration.
Can you contact me at SueMLewis@comcast.net ?
I have a question for you.

I believe her middle name was listed as Lee in the cemetery records, but that doesn't mean you aren't correct. Next to your Gr-Gr-mother is a person named Blythe, and the other side is Meade.
If you would like I would be glad to transfer.
Do you have a obit for her?

You are more than welcome, just wish I could have given you better news!
|Joel Shore||Re: Photo request for Catherine Dougherty 1848|
Attached is a copy of the problem report I submitted on this photo request:
According to the Mt Hope Interment Records (http://www.lib.rochester.edu/IN/RBSCP/Databases/IMAGES/MtHope/disc1/00000089.pdf), Catherine Dougherty who died in 1848 was a 15-day old child who died of whooping cough and she was buried in St Patrick's Cemetery.
This site gives a detailed explanation: http://mcnygenealogy.com/cem/st-pat.htm but the gist of it is that in the mid-1800s, the Mt Hope Interment Records were used to record all burials in the city of Rochester, including those at other cemeteries. St Patrick's Cemetery is a now-defunct cemetery, with most of the remains having supposedly been moved to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery where there is a general memorial for all of the removals from St. Patrick's. (You can see a picture of that on Memorial #31976547 for Bridget Agan and could ask Judy Williams, the volunteer who posted it, to do the same for Catherine Dougherty if you want.)

Thanks for the transfer! Barb

You are very welcome. When there is no marker I upload the locator map to kind of serve as the marker. It comes from the cemetery showing what they have listed as her DOB and DOD and gives her exact location.

I'm happy to have been able to help you. It's a great site including lots of cemeteries.
