RE: 4th Iowa Cavalry
I'd love to see some of William Clark's NA docs. Here's what my current file on him has: he was born in 1837 in New York; he enlisted 9/6/64 in Iowa City; and was discharged with the unit in Savannah on 7/25/65. He also appears in a list of "casualties" published in the Dec. 26, 1864 Des Moines Register, though it's not clear how or where he was hurt. He's buried at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Good luck in your research, and your trip to Vicksburg! Lots of Iowa stuff there on the battlefield. Also, let me know what you find out about your 22nd Iowa relative's service.

May I transfer them to you? I'm not a relative.

RE: 4th Iowa Cavalry
Thank you for all this data! It's especially nice to meet another 22nd Iowa descendant. I have added these memorials to my 22nd Iowa, and Iowa Civil War Soldiers, virtual cemeteries. Have you seen my website,

RE: Susanna Engle Deal
Hi Jay,
You would have to contact Linda Rose who is the caretaker of Susanna's page. From there she can add Clemens Engle (# 83419131) as the father. The pages do not allow me to add children, only parents and spouses.

Hi Jay, I have added headstone photos for your memorials at O'Neill. I had memorials for them on the catholic side (Calvary) but deleted mine as you have all your work done. I would be glad to transfer any or all for you of remaining ones that you might want that are listed in Calvary also. Good Hunting, Linda
