Recently, I became interested in my family lineage and have been striving to fill in the blanks. Someone pointed me to FindaGrave.com to find where a distant relative was buried. I submitted a request and within a couple of days, I had a photo of the marker that showed me that the relative was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart in WWII. With this information, I was able to determine where he served and other information about him.
Since a FindaGrave contributor made the effort to acquire the photo that provided me with so much information, I felt that I needed to pay it forward in order to help others in their searches.
Hopefully, my efforts will help others who will volunteer and the Find a Grave community will grow. | |

 | Catherine Link Hanger Dick, I have updated Catherine Link Hanger (32478626) as you suggested. The Hangers I posted are not -- for the most part -- my direct line so I would be glad to transfer any of them to you. Richard Osburn, Brunswick, Ga. | | | J.E.E.S.

 | Carl and Sarah Johns I searched the cemetery and found the area where Carl and Sarah should be. There is no marker. There is a fairly large open space next to the Kennedy marker. I'm pretty confident based on your description that Carl and Sarah's graves are unmarked.Added by Mary Ann on Apr 06, 2013 8:39 AM | | | J.E.E.S.
 | RE: Wilhoit, Adam Photo request I received the info about Adam Wilhoit (my 5th great grandfather) from Find a Grave where they listed Hebron Augusta Co. VA, as his burial place. I will contact my older cousin who has done a lot of geneology work to see if I can get any other information. thanks so much for your help. | Wm. H. Bell, #52912500 Thank you so much for posting a photo of my great grand-uncle's tombstone. I have changed the death date on the memorial. You noted that the birthdate on this memorial should be changed to agree with the age noted on the stone, and that makes sense, except that the birth year of 1813 was taken from records that date from prior to 1860. William's first wife pre-deceased him and he married the last one in 1868. It's possible that she (or another survivor) didn't know his actual age. I will look into our Bell documents and mementos and see what all I can find about him.
Again, thanks for a really nice photo.

 | RE: Rebecca Sizer Thanks, but no, they are not related to me, Becky was a sweet friend of mine and Gary was her ex-husband, but she took care of him until he died. Thank you for taking the time to do that. | | | kimmie925
