Tired of findagrave's ads re-directing you to other websites? Me too. I understand they need to pay the bills, but some of their ads act more like malicious spyware. So I decided to block the ad website completely. It's very easy to do. Follow the instructions on this website: How to block websites. The website you want to block is: ad.doubleclick.net|
Hope this helps. Now, for something completely different...
The ease and the quickness with which family information and tradition is lost is remarkable and rather appalling. A considerable amount of family history is sure to die with the older members of a family, and then when it is afterward urgently desired, it is either lost completely or is difficult to trace. This short article is written for the purpose of urging each member to write out in concise form, a brief history of his immediate branch of the family, including not only names and dates, although these are most important, but any interesting information and anecdotes. Twenty years from now the information filed may be very valuable to your son or daughter. Give a little time and trouble for the benefit of your children's children. -from "Holt Happenings" No. 2, Dec 1, 1922
Please feel free to use any of the memorial photos I have uploaded.

Find-a-grave design flaw - There's no easy way to view recent additions to large cemeteries (over 10,000 memorials). Now that GRC is over that number, here's a quicklink to help you out: View Green River memorials added in last 90 days.

Oh My goodness! This is my Great Grandmother and I have been searching for her for YEARS. Conflicting reports and death notices have stated she was buried at Federal Street Cemetery, and another article stated she was sent to Nova Scotia for burial with her family there. I have searched for years and was not successful. THANK YOU!1 I just called the cemetery and they are sending me all her information. According to your entry, she is at
Plot: Section 24, 3rd Row, North end, Single Grave #15
I know there is no marker, but do you have a photo of that section? I am going to buy a marker for her.
I am SO HAPPY and THANKFUL!! You have made my day!!
ps. Her husband is missing...if you ever find Jesse Montgomery Galusha please inform me. :)
|Anonymous||thanks very much|
thank you for all your work on Find A Grave. Appreciate the info on middle name for Rufus Lilly...I switched to cemetery version and added your info in the bio.
I have posted about 40 cemeteries to findagrave.com but since findagrave is now owned by ancestry I do not plan to add any more cemeteries to this website. As of today, Sept. 29, 2014
I have notified findagrave that I don't want to do updates anymore. They can tend to it.
Feel free to use any photo's I have posted.
Any information found online should be verified. People DO post incorrect information sometimes. Clicking to Accept changes and add new info is faster and easier but it doesn't add who provided that info when added to a memorial so I feel that a lot of misinformation can be added and no one will know who added it.
Also, if it's correct no one will be able to contact the person that added it to ask for further information.
I am not related to most entries I have made.
To all my "friends" it has been a pleasure meeting you.
