Kent,
I will tell mom that you asked about her and Beverly. I know she will be happy. Mom has told me repeatedly that your Dad got his life cut so short and that it just wasn't fair. No doubt, That is great to hear about Hunter. Pawpaw and your dad would definitely be pleased. Derral was such a military man anyways.....very stern and direct...lol....or at least what I can remember. He always teased me and wanted to give me a whipping when I was like 4 or 5...I was even kind of scared of him..his smoking drove me crazy......lol Grandma Bea just loved talking to your father....mainly about his Dad and I think also because they both smoked...my grandmother was truly one of a kind...I have a sister Kathleen who is 38 (also not married and single like me) that acts and talks just like her....lol.....my mother's smiling I think does come from her mother and the Aulvin family.

Hi Kent -

Mom is still alive. She is 70 and looks much younger than her age. My sister (38) and me have kept her young....Grandma Bea (that's what I called her) passed away in September of 2003 from an abdominal hemmorrage...she was 85 years old and had still lived in Grayville......I am so happy to hear you liked her paintings....I have one that she painted me that was a lighthouse and another that was a bald eagle and I treasure both of them......I can only imagine what Derral (I called him Pawpaw...only knew him until about age 7) said to you and your brothers.....I also can only imagine what he said and what it was like.....he was something else.....always wanted to wip me or said that I was a bad child and needed some discipline.....he was truly one of a kind.........lol........the picture I have of him from his war days and early time of his life clearly show he was a big drinker and socializer.......lol.....I have several more pictures of your father (Dean) and need to upload them on his find a grave page.....he seemed like such a good person....Grandma Bea loved him and talked about him quite a bit...I think they both liked to smoke together and talk about what was going on....lol.....

Hi Kent -

Good to hear from you. I hope you enjoy the Horste family geneology I have placed on these find a grave sites. Sharon is my mother. Mom was almost 40 when I was born in November of 1978. Derral was also my grandfather.....I believe I remember you but just barely from April of 1986. Didn't you attend his funeral in Grayville? I was only like 7 year old then so I can barely remember. I don't remember mom's horse but have seen several pictures of it. She talks about it all the time. Thanks for the corrections and updates. I'm working from Great Aunt Iva's geneology from 1984 so it's a little outdated and partially incorrect. Thanks. Patrick Robinson
