I am a 49-year old mother of 2, born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. I have lived in Charlotte, NC for 20 years. I found Find a Grave when I started researching my family tree. I feel that it is so important to keep as much of our history and heritage intact as possible, so I am trying to do my part by photographing cemetery markers and creating memorials as I have time. It's not a speedy process, but I really do enjoy it, and I hope I am helping someone to "connect" or become inspired to do the same. Feel free to use any or all of my photos anywhere, anytime, and without credits. Enjoy! |

Hello Elizabeth - I am presently taking pictures and revising records for New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau and came across the Behymer graves. it looks like Hamer's name is spelled wrong on his memorial page. Or was his name Homer? I looked at ancestry.com and it says Hamer but his death certificate could be Homer or it could be Hamer. The gravestone has Hamer. Could you check into this? Thanks. Ruth

I see that you are a descendant of Mattias, he's my forth Great Grandfather!
So maybe we are distant cousins!

Thank you for taking the photographs of the tombstones for James C. Coleman and his wife, Lillian Hearst Coleman; who are buried at Cedar Springs A.R.P. Churchyard Cemetery in Abbeville County, South Carolina.
And other photos of tombstones at Cedar Springs, that I have not discovered yet.
Elizabeth, it is thanks to individuals like you; who volunteer their time to bring ancestors closer together, even if it is only through a photograph of their final resting place. This will help future generations in our family to know a little more about their ancestor. ~ with appreciation, George Gaston
