Joseph Farnum
Sorry, but we couldn't really find anything else to help with his first wife, Mary. You have probably already looked at these:

45 pages in his bounty land/pension file, but no mention of any wife before Edith
DAR has very little information on Mary Lyon, most of her data is based upon the birth of her first child.
Amherst (Mont Vernon did not split from Amherst until 1803) marriage records and the Family Register in the Amherst town history provide nothing else
Can really only say Mary died before Joseph's remarriage in 1794

Best of luck in your research.

Mary & Tabitha Farnum

Yes, someone has added memorials for both the first and second wives of Lt. Joseph Farnum to the Green Lawn Cemetery. Unfortunately the cemetery trustees have no record of either burial in the cemetery and no gravestone exists for either woman. The stones for Joseph and his third wife are in the cemetery. If either of the first two wives were buried in the cemetery, they either did not have a gravestone, or the gravestone no longer exists. I also checked the town history, but it does not mention the burial location for these two women. If you are interested, I can check with our local Revolutionary War expert (who submitted the photos of the gravestone of Joseph and Edith) to see if she has more information on the first or second wives.

Mary Garland
Hi John,

Per your request I have posted a photo of Mary Garland's grave marker.

You asked for a personal photo of her. I do not have one for her.
