RE: Photo requests for St Sylvestre
Oh thanks for the offer, but I think it is going to be a fun trip. My cousin in law lives outside of Montreal, and it will be a chance for us to get together again.

I will keep you posted if you send me your email (mine is

I was there a few years ago, and I believe there are probably only 300 or so stones in each of the cemeteries that are left.

I would like to transfer those that belong to you to your management; there is no way I can manage all I have entered, and I can send you the information I have on births marriages and deaths from my list. Just send me the list of the names that belong you.

I believe I entered all the McGuires as Maguire so it was easier to find them all together. The actual records varied with the use of both names, I think they started out using Maquire and then as the generations went on it was corrected to McGuire, there are several other similiar situations. I have finished entering all the names in St Sylvestre, just moving some of the people who were actually buried in other cemeteries to the right place now, will be done today.

Photo requests for St Sylvestre
Hello, I noticed you have a number of photo requests in for St Sylvestre Cemetery, some of the names Houghton, Howden (are they the same family?) Maguire...just wanted to let you know I have been entering all of the burials there using the Birth, Marriages and Burials list from St Sylvestre...almost completed...I am going to be there in May to photograph that entire cemetery, and several others (St. Agathe, St Jacques-de-Leeds, maybe others) and I will post all the photos I take on Find a Grave for everyone's use. I have had photo requests out there in the past for these cemeteries and no one fills them, so I think it is important to document what is there...there has been some removal of stones in the past and reburials in these cemeteries...if any of the names I have entered are your families, please request a transfer to you Find A Grave number so you can manage them, and correct anything wrong. If you need specific information from the SS records (I only entered the year of death but have more) then email me on and I will supply so you can enter the information.

Thank you

RE: Fraga's at St. John's
You are more than welcome. As I noted I put another Fraga up on the St John site. It was Joseph. If you are related and want the site transferred, let me know
