Can you rotate and redo
the picture for Fanny Morey Graham, I appreciate the picture, she is and direct relative of mine but the picture would be better if rotated.

John Linn photo request
Hello, my husband and I have been all over Maple Grove in Hudson, and he is compiling a book on our readings. We do not have this name. Can you tell me where you think he's located in the cemetery, or why you think he's here? There is another Maple Grove in Hillsdale County, could that be possible? Let me know if we're mistaken, please!

Timothy Showerman
I just uploaded a photo for Timothy Showerman.

There were many Showerman family members in this block (Block 80, Lot 1 ... Timothy is in Grave 4).

I created memorials for Timothy's two wives, several children and grandchildren by the name of Showerman and also daughter Lucina Showerman Kellogg and her (most likely) son, Charles J. Kellogg.

Hope this helps.

John Van Fossen
I have uploaded a photo for John Van Fossen. The stone is broken and mostly warn, as well as partially buried. You can only make out a part of his name.

I will be creating memorials for his wife, Eliza, and daughters, daughters Mary, Babette (?), and Abigail who are buried with him. All of the stones, except for Abigail's are mostly unreadable.

Hope this helps.

James Thompson

I posted a photo for J. O. (James) Thompson and his wife Betsey on his page. However, the side of the stone with this couple's information was very difficult to read. I was able to make out some conflicting information, however. James's birth year appears to be 1793 on the stone and his death date is inscribed Oct. 5, 1885, not Nov. 5, 1885. I will try to see if the cemetery records can shed any light next time I am up there. Just wanted to let you know.

I am also going to add James's wife, Betsey, along with George Thompson (a son), and Augustus Thompson (I believe another son) and his wife, Caroline. One side of the monument also is inscribed for Elias Thompson (father of James) and his wife, Roseannah, but the information for Elias is almost unreadable and the information for Roseannah indicates she died in Connecticut. I will try to ascertain if they are actually buried at Highland before I add them.

Roseannah is not listed as the mother of James O. Thompson on his death certificate. Perhaps she is a second wife of Elias?

Hope this helps.

Father Hicks
Hi Judy:

There is a marker in the Sheldon Cemetery for "Father" in the Hicks section. I have an image on file but the marker is weathered and "Father" is on the top facing skyward so it is illegible in my photo. I took that photo and the one I uploaded a few years ago when cataloging the cemetery. I can send the image and in the spring visit the cemetery to see if some water will make the inscription clearer. Let me know if you are interested.
