I have to add this before my profile: I'm realizing now that I have created duplicate memorials for my ancestors. So, I'd like to apologize to anyone who had previously created the records I duplicated. I jumped into this site without reading the directions or rules very thoroughly! DUH! I think I just naively thought people were only entering their own relatives & ancestors so therefore mine would not be in the database yet. I greatly admire the hard work done by others & am constantly amazed at how many memorials various individuals have created. |
I'll do my homework from now on before entering new records!
I first started asking questions about my family's history when I was about 15 years old.
My mother had a great memory & knew details & stories about all her cousins & aunts & uncles and this peaked my interest.
When I was 15 my grandfather, Hiram John Dougherty Latchford, whom I'm named after, took me to meet his cousin, Helen Latchford, who had been doing the Latchford genealogy for decades. She died not too long after our meeting & we inherited all of her research material.
Thirty years later I bought Family Tree Maker & started inputting information. My mother supplied me with dates for many people and the game was on!
I drifted in & out of doing research for years. Now that I'm retired & recently joined Ancestry.com, I'm trying to fine tune all the information I have which includes the burial places of many people in my family tree.
Please feel free to use my photos for personal or non-profit ventures.

You're welcome! I sent additional family links to you via the edit button for Frank Randolph Marlow in case you are researching the family genealogy.

Thanks John. I am not related, just cleaning up and adding location, name info etc on some of the memorials by going through the Flint Hill Cemetery census and comparing with Find A Grave. Most interesting project.

Thanks for the kind offer, not a relative, just trying to complete the cemetery pictures.

Hi John, thanks for the edits (there may be more now--or not). I took photos of those for a volunteer photo request, so I'm not related--thanks for the offer. I'm guessing someone else would want them transferred.
Dreama jones (#48522275) did the request for someone else in that plot, so I don't know if she wants them.
Thanks, and nice hearing from you again!

Hi John, you can transfer the memorial to me. Ann was my great-grandmother. Thanks for the help. I am new at this so you are my 1st contact.
Thanks again and have a great week.

No transfer is necessary but thank you for the offer. I saw the flower stem on her marker but just thought that maybe it had blown on there from somewhere else.
I was unaware of baby Elizabeth until I went there today to take the photos for myself. As you say, they are all together now and I thank you.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for making the corrections/changes to the memorials and for doing them so quickly.

You have duplicated my memorial for Robert Rainey Kelly (memorial # 158698347) in New Cathedral Cemetery. Would you please delete it? But before you do please remember to UNLINK him from his wife and to UNLINK his daughter from him as well.
Then if you would, please link his wife to him and link his daughter to him (#158698347). Normally I would have sent these corrections to you via Suggest-A-Corrections but I have found in the past that they aren't done by other members unless I contact them this way.
I am curious, did someone contact you about this family or is it a coincidence that you and I recently entered these memorials onto Find A Grave?

|Candeux||RE: Koch memorial|
Actually, there is a relative who is interested in that family: Tammy Gephardt (#48499969). She is the one who requested a photo for Maria Koop-Schrauth, who is also buried at that location. She was also interested in some of the others buried there, but for some reason was not interested in George and Emily Koch. Perhaps I will let her know that you have memorials for both of them.

|Candeux||RE: Koch memorial|
Thanks for doing that; I was just thinking I should ask you if you wanted to create a memorial for Emily. I have uploaded the photos.
