I was born and raised in North Carolina. My love for genealogy and family history began more than 30 years ago while vacationing in the Smoky Mountains National Park, particularly Cade's Cove, TN. There are many family cemeteries there and books full of history about those settlers.

My desire as a Find a Grave volunteer is to help others learn about their heritage through the joint efforts of other volunteers.

I am also a survivor of non-alcoholic cirrhosis. After 10 long years of sickness, I received a life saving transplant in May 2021. My near death experience makes me realize how important it is to preserve the memories of others.
