John A. Belousoff
Hi Frances,

I found a John A. Belousoff who died in Los Angeles, CA. The memorial does not show dates.
Do you think this could be Pauline's husband?

The full name is John Andrew Belousoff.

Hi............Thank you for the information. It updates my tree. Bill Popin is my great uncle. He is my GF's brother. Junie is my cousin as is Binky. I had Uncle Bill married to Mary Gregory Samaduroff and now can make the link to him in the same cemetery.

I show her as Mary George Samaduroff md. Michael Ivanovich Kobseff. Below is the marriage certificate transcription for her and Uncle Bill.

I guess we are 'almost' cousins. Amazing that you found me!

Hi Frances,

I could transfer the memorial to you, or you can give me the information and I'll update. The same information is also probably on the Molokan message board and that will have to be changed too.

I looked Masha up to see your relative and noted she is buried in the Russian Sectarian Cemetery. I started that project about 8 years ago and took photos of all the people buried there. My own grandparents are there as well as many other relatives. It was a project that was waiting to be done and I'm glad I did it. I tried finding information about everyone at the cemetery and sadly didn't find anything for your grandmother. It'll be so nice for your updates.

My grandparents were Molokans in San Francisco on Potrero Hill. My maiden name is Poppin and am related to the Poppin family in the Los Angeles area. There are still many relatives in San Francisco and other outlying areas i.e. Vacaville.

I've been helping out with the Molokans and my Russian side for about 12 years. After I researched my own family, I found lines that branched off from mine. Since the Russians married within their clan, I figured it was all a matter of time before I traced those lines back to my own family. And it was indeed true! So I help out where I can by posting information that I find. I subscribe to several online databases and also use my library card. It is fun and enjoyable for me and rewarding to know that family is finding clues to their own lines.

Let me know if you wish the memorial transferred.

Sincerely,
Nancy Poppin Umland
