|history4sure||edits, Thomas Cadwell's|
Thank you so much for your interest in the Thomas Cadwell family line - I appreciate help with research and your two edits were certainly understandable, but I cannot accept them without positive sources.
The origin of Thomas Cadwell (circa 1620) of Hartford, CT, including birth data and names of parents, is not proven. IF HIS father was named Thomas, the designation of this Thomas as "Thomas the 1st" would be incorrect; thus, it is left as Thomas Cadwell.
Next, his son (1662), is designated as "Lieutenant", which defines him further than does "Sr.", which also applies, since he and his son (born 1689) lived in the same local during the same era. (But using Sr. would be redundant, and confusing, suggesting there were a Jr. & a Sr. Lieutenant)
Also, regarding changing Thomas Cadwell (1689) from Jr. to the III - the term Jr. is applicable, because a Thomas the 1st has not been proven.
I have researched this line for about 30 years and it IS a confusing one, so I appreciate any undiscovered vital records. Thanks again.
