David,

Thank you so much for the photos of Fred and Jeannette McHenry's vault. I so appreciate your time!

RE: Guttmann and Kaufer photo requests
Hi Dave,
I'm so glad I could be of help! As for the names of the daughters, that is a thought I wouldn't have come up with, but it makes sense. I would rather have put the names at the spot where it says "beweint von ihren Töchtern", but you may be perfectly right. And it's lovely that way.

Regarding your requests for Bernhard Gostl and Gisela Platzer, I wasn't lucky I fear. The plot 17 where Gisela Platzer should be is empty, I searched the surrounding headstones as well, but no luck there. I had other rows to find the exact grave number, and I don't think I'm mistaken with that.

Bernhard Gostl is difficult because what's left of the headstones in the area is weathered, and there are no plot numbers around anywhere.
I could share photos of the general area for both, but I guess that wouldn't be helpful.

Sorry I don't have any better news.

But there's deer around there everywhere, such beauties, I took a photo of a group of four today. It's a very peaceful and natural place.

Love from Austria,
Susy

RE: Monument Cemetery
David, I have since learned "Monument Cemetery" is actually Chalmette National Cemetery, renamed in 1868. Thanks for your note!!! Mike

re: Monument Cemetery
Michael, there is no cemetery by that name in New Orleans. Could it be part of another cemetery?

RE: Bernhard Gostl
I did go to the cemetery today and learned that neither the map nor the database are complete. If you look on GoogleEarth for example, there is much more to the cemetery than is shown on the map url I sent you. I need to go back when it is warmer and there is less snow.

RE: Bernhard Gostl
The numbers do not match section 4 of the cemetery. But perhaps they really mean Section 17, (either A or B), either Row 1 or 2 and Grave 55. I might head down there on this snowy day and see what I can find.
