| Bio and Links | I think Findagrave.com is a wonderful collaboration of people who love family and history. Sometimes, I'll visit a cemetery when I am on a trip somewhere that has one nearby and take photos. I do a lot of work to make the memorials and try to find any information about the people (like dates and relationships.) And then, when I go to put up the photos, someone has already done some of them for me--and their photos are even better than mine! So, I do get saved some work. Taking photos is not the big work at all. It is just fun. And when I can put up a photo without having to make a memorial for it, then I'm really saved a lot of work and get to give someone else some real pleasure. It is important to have a photo of one's ancestors' stones. They are great records. I just wish everyone would pick materials that stand up to time and are not "biodegradable." | |

 | RE: Links for the Haines memorials Done, I think. No need to transfer them back. I'm not related to the family--just happen to live nearby. Let me know if I missed anyone.Added by Pat on May 16, 2013 8:23 PM | | | Pat
 | RE: About the Haines family in Mt. Kisco I can fill in information if you send it to me, or--and this would probably be a better idea--send me links to each person in the tree and I'll transfer them to you so you can update them more easily. Not a problem either way, so just let me know what works for you.Added by Pat on May 16, 2013 2:13 PM | | | Dino
 | RE: Rutfield Photos for William and Stella My pleasure and I'm glad you like it. If you were look at the map, you would see that Liberty Progressive is one of approximately 25 small Jewish cemeteries occupying an area I would estimate at 50 acres. Since I began with a relatively defined enclosure - the name of the cemetery - it was not all that difficult to find the grave. I happened to be in that location in pursuit of an addition that I find quite interesting, so I took care of several requests in the process. If you are a relative, you might consider a transfer from the manager (his first name is Dave). There is certainly quite a bit of Hebrew writing in those cemeteries - at least that's what they tell me it is.
Best regards

 | RE: Evelyn Kushel Photo Its okay it says who she is the daughter of and I can't read the last few words. She is my 1st cousin 2x removed. She died when I was just a baby but it is safe to assume she was a very nice person. she was born on the ship on the way to America from Russia. All of the dead in my great grandfather's side of the family is buried on a little street in the cemetery called Bekelman or Bakelman ave. which is the first left on the entrance there is about 10 people just there and more scattered about through out there. I think its the only Jewish cemetery in providence or at least the only when they were buried.
Thank you and have a nice day,

 | RE: Abigail Tyler Yes, I live in the area. There was a cemetery restoration project there a couple of days before I took the photos, so I went over to take pictures of headstones that had been cleaned. I only took a couple dozen photos while there, so I'm sure there are lots more memorials that need pictures,
There are a bunch of Quaker cemeteries in the area--you may be thinking if the one in Chappaqua, which is the next town south from St. Mark's. I haven't been there in years, but I think there may be a cemetery project going on there as well.Added by Pat on May 09, 2013 6:14 AM | | | | [View all messages...] |
