Years ago while I was doing my own family genealogy, I was looking for a particular person and I ran across Findagrave.com and there was a picture of this person's grave marker. I was so pleased that someone had taken the time to take that picture and put it online for others to find. That is when I decided to start working on grave markers.

I have always enjoyed cemeteries, particularly old ones, so I decided to start photographing them and I offered to post the pictures to our local Genealogical society's webpage. So many of the old markers are crumbling and becoming almost impossible to read, so these need to be photographed and posted before they are gone completely.

A few years ago I decided it would be fun to photograph markers for Findagrave when one is requested in my area.

Photo of Tom Adamson's headstone
Thank you so much for adding the photograph. Tom was a great friend. We grew up about a block apart in West Chicago. I had something to do with his love of guitars, I helped him purchase his first electric guitar and get it customized also gave him some lessons. Tom was one of the smartest, genuine, giving, open, honest and caring people I've ever met. I loved him like a brother. Sadly, I was unable to attend his funeral and the last time I was in town I tried to find his grave site, but couldn't. The photo means a lot to me.
